Foil is something that is not often used in crafts, but wow, it does create such different textures and prints. It is also completely mouldable – so you can make real 3D sculptures from it!
During the fall we printed fall trees and used the foil to make leaves! The foil created such an unexpected pattern, they turned out great!
Supplies needed to make this wonderful aluminium Christmas tree craft.
- Cardboard. We used an old cardboard box we had lying around.
- Aluminum Foil, the stronger/thicker, the better!
- Decorations. We made three different trees. One we decorated with pom-poms, the other with Washi tape and the third with a mixture of everything – including a little paint dots that we made with q-tips.
Making your own aluminium foil Christmas tree will allow your children to create and make with a different material that the paper that they are so used to! A wonderful sensory art experience!! These foil trees are also wonderfully shiny in the lights at night!!
