This is so much fun! Making your own paintbrushes gives a new excitement to painting!
The possibilities are endless!
After a walk in the garden and a hunt around the house, we managed to collect things we thought would be a winner to paint with!

Older children will use the different brushes to create patterns – the result being a picture of a garden or of ‘something.’
Younger children will just paint! And that is perfect!
Children will enjoy the different textures and patterns. We used a different color for every paintbrush – so the textures stood apart from each other!

Why not see what you have around the house or in the garden and make some super fun paintbrushes today!
Other unusually interesting ways to paint:
- Paint with stones and rocks – they make great shapes!
- Blocks are a wonderful idea to build castles and art! This Paul Klee Castel and Sun painting is a great way to have fun whilst learning about one of the great painters in history!
- Flower garden painted with kitchen utensils.
- African safari animal shadow drawing.
