After the great success of our glitter sidewalk paint, we added some sparkle to our favorite play dough recipe!
We are all about things shiny at the moment!!
This play dough lasts and lasts and lasts! We keep it in a ziplock bag in the fridge and it keeps for months!
Recipe:
2 cups flour, 1 cup salt, 2 cups water, 1Tsp vegetable oil, 4tsp cream of tartar.
Mix all the ingredients together in a big pot and then put it onto the stove. At first the mixture is quite runny, but after a few minutes on the stove it forms a dough. Keep string continuously, make sure to stir the bottom of the pot so it does not burn.
In about 2 minutes your mixture will be like dough. Take it out, allow it to cool and knead like bread a few times.
Now for the fun part! We divided our dough into 4 equal bits, added food coloring to each, and kneaded it in. Then, when we had 4 balls of colored playdough, we added about a Tsp of glitter to each. We added the corresponding glitter to the color of the dough, but if you only have silver glitter, that will work in everything!!
Have fun!
