This is a fantastic Puffy Paint recipe!
It is a favorite to paint with – as the puffed up results are always met with wow an oooh and ahhhhh!
This recipe requires the use of a microwave for a few seconds to achieve the results, but it does not use any glue which some other puffy paint recipes require.
What you need:
1/2 cup flour
2 tsp salt
2 tsp baking powder
Food Coloring
A little water
How?
1. First mix the dry ingredients together well.
2. Add water until is becomes a THICK paste. Add water little bit by little bit – be careful as it does not need much!
3. Stir well until all lumps have been removed. You should see little bubbles starting to form – this is a good sign – it means your paint will rise.
4. At this point I transfer them into squeeze bottles – you do not need bottles, individual bowls with paint brushes also works fine.
5. Once the paint has been divided into separate bowls – or a Plastic Squeeze Bottle, I add a small amount of food coloring to each, and stir well… I use Wilton Food Coloring Gel
Once your paint is ready, then paint away!
Make sure that the card you are painting on fits into the microwave.
When you have painted all you like, then give it a few seconds in the microwave and it will puff up like magic. (I normally give it 15 – 20 seconds – but all microwaves are different.)
Using this recipe we have made watermelons and ice creams!!
