I’m sentimental! I’ll admit! So what to do with all those hundreds and thousands of beautiful drawings and paintings created with love by your two year old?
I’ll keep some, thats for sure, especially the first ‘my family drawing.’ For the rest however I needed to find a way to be able to use the art, or at least bits of it, and turn it into something we could keep forever – without creating a mountain of squiggles and splashes and dots. So I decided on a joint project! Emma’s art and my cutting skills!
I chose drawings and paintings with definite patterns and colors, that helps my flower composition! Then I made 3 different flowers by cutting out shapes (the same shape for each flower type) in different sizes, and pinned them all together with a paper fastener! I added a stem and stuck them all into a shape printed vase. I finally stuck them all onto a thick piece of card, and because I was really impressed with the result, I put it into a frame to hang in Emma’s room.
She loves looking at it and I love the fact that we have successfully managed to save some of her art, in a beautiful way!
